This is the perfect time to remind the very special men in our lives to take care of themselves.
Here are 10 health tips men can use to lead better lifestyles:
1. Find a doctor
Find a doctor you’re comfortable with. You should be able to discuss all aspects of your life without any inhibitions – physical, sexual, and mental. Don’t go in denial when you encounter a telling physical symptom. Consult a specialist immediately as early diagnosis is the key to effective treatment.
2. Get good sleep
A recent survey said that with an average of 6.55 hours of sleep in a day, Indians are amongst the poorest sleepers in the world. It is important to make sure you get seven to nine hours of sleep every day to ensure a healthy lifestyle.
3. Move
Men are required to undertake at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity, or 75 minutes of intense aerobic activity each week. Brisk walking is an example of moderate aerobic activity while intense aerobic activity constitutes of running, swimming, playing tennis, or cycling. Include muscle-training and stretching to your workout routine as well to create a healthy variation.
4. Quit tobacco
Quitting tobacco comes with a variety of benefits including a reduced risk of heart disease and cancer. If it’s a task to quit on your own, explore programs that can help you do that. Seek assistance. It would help you maintain a healthy lifestyle in the long run.
5. Eat healthy
Stay off packaged or processed foods. 9. Get regular check-ups
In the hotchpotch of our daily lives, regular check-ups take the last position in our priority list. Don’t do that mistake, as it’s important to be well aware of your blood pressure and cholesterol levels on a regular basis. There should also be regular screenings for colorectal and prostate cancer as well as regular check-ups to gauge your daily health status.
