Some things you only see in dreams but reality. There are many few cities in the world which are in continuous quest to raise the bar of excellence by making impossible possible. And Dubai is the only megacity where many things would look too far from reality. Be it Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world or artificial islands called Palm Jumeirah; Dubai is in the habit of creating modern world’s wonders.
Now Dubai is planning to disrupt its burgeoning skyline with an idea which has never been implemented in the world before. A rotating skyscraper! Yes, you heard it right. And the incredible thing about this skyscraper would be that every floor will rotate individually to provide 360 degree view to the residents. One can also control the speed of rotation with voice commands.
Dynamic Tower Hotel project will be the world’s first rotating skyscraper. Israeli-Italian architect David Fisher is planning the Dynamic Tower since 2008 and is expected to start functioning by 2020. With 80 storeys, tower will be 1,375 feet high. The elevator would run through the building’s concrete core, but unlike normal elevator it would let residents transport their car up and park it next to the apartment. Building will meet its power needs by solar panels mounted on the terrace and 79 horizontal wind turbines fixed between every story.
But many people’s dream to live in this unique apartment would shatter after hearing a hefty price tag of up to $30 million.
