Days after Supreme Court upheld the death sentence of 4 rapists involved in the gang rape of Nirbhaya, another spine chilling and abominable case has happened in Rohtak, Haryana. A girl was abducted, taken to a sequestered place and allegedly gang raped by 7 persons.
As per the police investigation, the girl was kidnapped on her way to work on 9 May 2017 and never returned home to neighboring Sonepat district where she lived with her parents.
This victim was brutally raped and her body was found mutilated. The girl was run over by a vehicle, her head was smashed and sharp objects were inserted into her private parts. Only a lunatic ghost can do such things to a girl.
To accused badly disfigured the girl’s body to hide her identity. The forensic team stated “the victim was tortured and her body was mutilated and tortured after the gang rape. She was killed after being raped involving at least seven people. Her skull was smashed in a way which indicates that she was run over by a vehicle in order to hide her identity,”
The forensic team has also found traces of drugs in viscera samples from the victim’s body.
Parents of the girl have named the prime accused who used to harass the girl and also proposed her for marriage. After the girl turned down his proposal, the accused went away after threatening the girl of dire consequences.
As a male chauvinistic patriarchal society, when we will understand that a girl is no man’s property and she has every right to select a life partner of her choice. And at any point of time, she reserves the right to walk out of any relationship. Some men when get rejected or dumped, take it on their male ego and end up becoming a lunatic ghost to do such inhuman acts in rage.
