Oscar believes Shahrukh Khan is not a global superstar and doesn’t deserves an invite

Bollywood actors Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Amitabh Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Aamir Khan and Irrfan Khan have been invited to be a part of Academy of Motion Pictures. This is the academy that conducts Oscar Awards and it is a matter of great honour that so many Indian actors have been invited to join the prestigious Academy. But one name – that stands equally tall – is conspicuous by his absence. The name is none other than King Khan of Bollywood. A lot of people are surprised that Shahrukh Khan has not been included in the list.

The Bombay Times quoted the academy as saying ” The basic requirement is that a candidate must have demonstrated exceptional achievement in the field of theatrical motion pictures, ”

It is really surprising that Shahrukh Khan, who enjoys massive fan followings across many nations, was not considered a global icon by the Academy.

Shahrukh fans are visibly angry at this and are wondering that if Deepika Padukone can be invited, why is Shah Rukh’s name missing. SRK, so far, has not said anything about it.

Shahrukh has fans from Dhaka to Dublin to Durban to Detroit, so it won’t matter to him whether he gets included in the academy or not. He is a bigger brand than any academy, and his fans shouldn’t get disheartened at all.
