With people and democracies finally opening up towards LGBTQI community and giving them the respect and recognition they deserve in the society; more and more people are making their sexuality public.
A few weeks back, Miley Cyrus was quoted as saying “Who I’m with has nothing to do with sex — I’m super open, pansexual, that’s just me,” in an interview to Billboard magazine.
Millennials were not familiar with the term ‘pansexual’ till three years ago. But thanks to the burst of social media and openness about people’s sexual orientation, awareness about owning up one’s sexuality without guilt has increased manifolds.
What is pansexuality?
Pansexuality is a sexual, romantic or emotional attraction towards a person irrespective of their identity. People might confuse pansexual people with bisexuals but it is different in all sorts. Bisexual people are attracted towards both male and female only. Pansexuals, apart from men and women are attracted towards transsexuals, transvestites, hermaphrodites, intersexuals or even people with a sex-chromosome anomaly.
Several people term it as greedy or the lust experience everything; which is not true. In fact, pansexuals are more choosy about their partners as they believe in serious intimacy and meaningful relationships.
