Make your food ordering experience ‘uber cool’ with UberEATS
If there is one thing that is still untapped by technological start-ups; it is the FOOD! Zomato, foodpanda, and Swiggy have only been able to tap a minor chunk of $15 billion unorganized food market. UberEATS is launched in India to bank on this huge potential of unorganized food sector in India. Presently the app has started serving in the 4 regions on Mumbai and has partnered with 200 restaurants. Based upon the response, Uber will scale up the operations gradually.
UberEATS will function on the ride model and will collaborate with restaurant and delivery partners. The app is completely independent of Uber cab aggregator service and is focussing on building trust of its customers. Uber will use data analytics to help restaurants deliver faster and generate greater revenues.
The application will charge a delivery fee of Rs 15 with no minimum order value. The smartphone application is available on Android and iOS.
The app was started as a small delivery pilot in Los Angeles in 2014. Presently, UberEATS is serving 78 cities of 26 countries.
